My Career as a Student
      I came to the University of South Carolina with the Life Scholarship which awards one thousand dollars each semester (provided that I take 30 credit hours each year and maintain a 3.0 gpa.) I was enrolled in the Lower Division of the College of Nursing . The nursing program at USC is very competative. At the close of your third semester, each student must apply for the Upper Division of Nursing. Only 50 students are accepted each semester based on their accumulated grade point average. I applied this past Decemeber, and am pleased to report that I was accepted and will begin my clinicals in the Fall 2000 semester.

      I have been on the Dean's list each semester since I began at Carolina. With the pressure of my pending acceptance into the Upper Division no longer an issue, my current goal is to continue to maintain a 3.5 gpa, so that I will remain on the Dean's List. So, we'll see...
